The Chimeco plant was set up at the beginning of the Nineties at Buccino (Salerno) in southern Italy to manufacture modified chrome-based tanning products, previously developed at Daltons research laboratories.
As the process was based on the chrome chemistry, it was necessary to build a new plant provided with such equipment and structures as to eliminate the problems this type of production usually involves.
These chrome-based tanning substances enlarge and complete the range of specialities for the tanning industry manufactured by the other units in the Group. The chrome redox process is also employed to manufacture fine chemistry intermediate products.
